Flight of Diesel the Red-shouldered hawk

Diesel is a young Red-shouldered hawk who is a resident avian ambassador at the Ohio Bird Sanctuary.  After a short career as a falconer's bird, he arrived at OBS during 2012 and began daily flight training sessions. His mission will be to educate the public in the dynamics of avian flight.

Diesel free-fly's in the meadow from perch to trainer, trainer to trainer, and trainer to perch with food being the motivating factor. It is exciting to watch how well he performs his task!

We hope that you will check back often to catch behind the scene glimpses of the daily life of the Ohio Bird Sanctuary.

If you have questions about the birds or OBS, feel free to email us at ohiobirdsanctuary@gmail.com.
